Ok Let Me Try Again,about Business Lease?
I rent a building that I use for a retail business.I have a lease that is not up.The owner of the building has raised my rent and not only that he wants the increase to include the entire year of 2007 up front.There is nothing in my lease that states that he can do this.I pay for ALL repairs for this building including things like a new roof,a/c etc.He recentley sold the building to his son and this is when it all came down on me.I see how selling could invalidate my lease but how can he go back and demand an increase for the previous year when he legally doesn’t own the building anymore.If I don’t pay up I will be evicted.He stills runs everything even though he son is now the property owner.Does anyone know what my rights are or where I can go to find out?This business is in Texas if that helps any.
